Well this week I am up to lesson 9 in my Karen Pryor Academy – Dog Trainer Professional course and can’t believe how exciting it is to do another course in dog training. This week’s lesson was on fluency which incorporates precision ie how the final behaviour looks, latency ie how quickly your dog/animal responds to your cue and speed ie how fast your dog/animal performs the behaviour. It is hard to believe that there are so many different aspects you can learn about dog training. An example is when you are teaching a dog to roll-over, it means you can get an impressive roll-over behaviour, within a good time frame and your dog has good speed in completing the behaviour.
